Mændenes Hjem offers social and healthcare services to men and women in extremely vulnerable life situations, often marked by substance abuse and homelessness.
Behind the Scenes
Mændenes Hjem is a safety net. A place where people are received unconditionally, but with hope, professionalism, and proactivity. We offer harm reduction support, acute health interventions, and help to regain basic routines, establish a livelihood, and access necessary treatment.
Departments
Mændenes Hjem offers a wide range of social and healthcare services to men and women who are homeless, substance users, or otherwise vulnerable. All of Mændenes Hjem’s services are located in Vesterbro, Copenhagen.
We help men and women from all over Denmark and from abroad. We operate a wide range of departments and initiatives in Vesterbro, Copenhagen, where we help approximately 500 socially vulnerable people to find their footing every day.
The Efforts
We operate drug consumption rooms, health clinics, day centers and a night café, shelters, housing communities, a second-hand shop, kitchens, and social activities. Our core mission is to create calm in chaos and provide space, support, and care for people who are rarely met with warmth and understanding elsewhere.
