Stofindtagelsesrummet Skyen
Skyen is located at Mændenes Hjem and opened in 2013 as the first healthcare-based drug consumption room in Vesterbro. It has 17 spaces, divided into 9 for injection and 8 for smoking.

Skyen creates a safe, controlled, and respectful environment where users have access to clean injection and smoking equipment and the opportunity to consume substances under healthcare professional supervision. It is a low-threshold service, meaning that there are no requirements for treatment, detoxification, or abstinence to use the service.

Just like at H17, Skyen is staffed by a multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, social workers, and professionals with experience in the field of substance abuse. The staff actively work with harm reduction, overdose prevention, and building bridges to the healthcare system, addiction treatment, and social initiatives. Here, you will be met with professionalism, trust, dignity, and human understanding.

Since its opening, Skyen has had over 1 million drug intakes, making it one of the most used drug consumption rooms in Denmark. The service plays a central role in reducing deaths, infectious diseases, and insecurity, which often accompany drug use in public spaces.

Skyen is financed by the Municipality of Copenhagen and is an important part of the city’s overall overdose and harm reduction strategy. It is a concrete example of how social and health professional approaches can be combined in working with some of society’s most vulnerable citizens.
